1970s
Established in 1971, ANOP quickly earned a reputation for high quality and insightful research, strategic thinking and campaign planning under its managing director, Rod Cameron.

1980s
ANOP is widely credited with providing the Australian Labor Party with the winning edge in its domination of Australian politics in the 1980s. Our research and advice is highly respected by opinion leaders across the political spectrum, as well as in the media and corporate Australia.

1990s
After retiring from political research in the early 1990s, ANOP focussed all its energies and expertise to the commercial arena. We continued to provide top quality research and strategic advice, specialising in the service industries. Our main clients were and continue to be some of Australia's major icon corporations, industry associations and communications institutions.

2000s
In 2000, ANOP formed a partnership with the Singleton Group Limited (later STW Group), with SGL acquiring a 50% share of ANOP. We provided the Group with experience in customer satisfaction, segmentation and targeting.

2008
ANOP returned to private independent ownership and is now fully owned by its four directors – Rod Cameron, Margaret Gibbs, Peter Harrington and Amanda Hicks. ANOP is one of the few remaining 100% Australian owned and independent research houses in the country.
